With advanced network connectivity and expansion capability, the NSA 1088N8 is the ideal platform for building network security applications (such as IDS/IPS, anti-virus/anti-spyware/anti-spam and load balancing), and it is therefore intended for enterprise-class environments.
The NSA1088N8 is a 1U 19” rack-mount form factor platform, based on the Intel® 3210 Memory Controller Hub (MCH) and Intel® 828091IR I/O Controller Hub (Intel® ICH9R). The NSA1088N8 builds on the extensive line of full-featured single-processor server boards to offer performance for today's applications and headroom for the next generation of Intel processors. The platform supports up to 4GB DDRII system memory with two memory sockets and can support two independent GbE LAN modules. Each LAN modular has 4 LAN ports with copper or fiber interface and also boasts a bypass feature.
The NSA1088N8 also supports a number of different types of CPU configurations including Intel® Core™2 Quad processor Q9400, Intel® Core™2 Duo processors E8400, E7400 and E6400 and Intel® Celeron processor 440. Based on different CPU performance, the NSA 1088N8 can easily be configured for various applications including firewall, VPN, Network load balance, Network bandwidth management, Anti-virus, Mail filter and many more.
